Jason Jared - is one of the owners and currently the main trainer at CrossFit Folsom Lake. He is a certified CrossFit Level One trainer and also CrossFit Running and Endurance certified. Jason is a finisher of Ironman Couer D'Alene, multiple California International Marathons, and an alternate runner for one of the top teams in the Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup relay. In 2008, Jason was promoted and transfered to the Santa Cruz Area. He had heard of CrossFit and walked into the nearest gym, Santa Cruz Central, one of the CrossFit community's world reknowned gyms. Learning from the best for over a year, Jason took a transfer to return home and open CFFL. In April, Jason spent a week at Mike's Gym learning the finer points of Olymipic lifting. He felt this was better than a weekend certification with 40 other people. We would rather get the information, than get a piece of paper. This trend will continue. Subsequent to that training, Jason was certified by USA Weighlifting as a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach.
Shauna Souther Jared - is the driving force behind CrossFit Folsom Lake. She is currently a certified CrossFit Level One trainer and a attendee of the Paleolithic Solutions Seminar. She is certified as a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach by USA Weightlifting. Shauna has been teaching people how to move for a long time. She is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in karate and was an instructor by the age of 16. Shauna is a finisher of multiple marathons and an Iroman athlete. Shauna comes from a broad running backgroud having been a mentor for Team in Training and worked for Fleet Feet Downtown. She is also a certified massage therapist specializing in sports therapy. Shauna was the official therapist for the Downtown Fleet Feet Racing Team for the last three years. Currently she still works on many of the team members and maintains a therapy room at the gym.
Ashley Bakken - Ashley started gymnastics when she was 3 years old. She was the first child at Tricks gymnastics to be pulled into a class specifically designed to prepare kids for competition. Ashley started competing at the age of 8 (minimum age at the time) and continued for five years. At the age of 14, she started her gymnastics coaching career. During this time, she also started to compete in diving and rowing. Ashley has continued to coach gymnastics, and now has over 10 years experience working with children. She is now in charge of selecting children who have the potential to compete and preparing them for the next level of training.
Ashley found CFFL in August 2009 and has been fully committed to it ever since. She competed in the NorCal Sectionals in March 2010 and placed 14th overall and qualified for the SW Regionals. She decided to have a bit more fun and participated in the team event where her team took 13th overall. In April, Ashley completed her CrossFit level 1 certification.
